Please note that this exhaust is NOT compatible with dual carburetor configurations. To ensure proper fitment and clearance, your engine must be equipped with stock-style clip-on valve covers. It is an ideal choice for Beetles, Karmann Ghias, and custom dune buggies looking for a performance edge.

Pro Tech Tips for Installation

Prep and Paint Before Installation: The raw steel finish comes with a thin layer of storage paint designed solely to prevent rust during transit and warehousing. This coating is often scuffed or chipped upon arrival and is not a final finish. For the best look and longevity, we recommend stripping the storage paint and applying a high-quality, high-heat header paint or professional ceramic coating before mounting it to your engine.

Verify Valve Cover Clearance: Because of the routing of the dual glass packs, clearance around the cylinder heads is tight. This system is designed to work specifically with original-style clip-on valve covers. Bolt-on or extra-wide aftermarket valve covers may interfere with the exhaust piping, so verify your hardware setup before beginning the installation.

Check for Exhaust Leaks After Heat Cycles: Always use fresh gaskets and high-quality hardware when installing a new exhaust system. After the first few heat cycles (running the engine to operating temperature and letting it cool), re-torque the nuts at the cylinder heads and the muffler clamps. This ensures everything has seated properly as the metal expands and contracts, preventing annoying exhaust leaks.
