Always use a small dab of dielectric grease on the terminals to prevent corrosion, especially if your vehicle is exposed to moisture or salt.
2. Install with a Relay for Maximum Longevity
While this switch is rated for a 4.5 Amp load, many air-cooled enthusiasts run multiple high-draw incandescent bulbs or vintage accessory lights. To significantly extend the life of the internal diaphragm and contact points of the ALL76252, we recommend using the switch to trigger a standard 30-amp automotive relay. 3. Proper Sealing and Orientation
When installing the 1/8 Inch NPT threads into your brake tee or master cylinder, remember that these are tapered pipe threads. You do NOT need to bottom out the switch to get a seal. Over-tightening can crack the master cylinder casting or the switch housing itself. Furthermore, never use Teflon tape on brake system fittings; small shreds of tape can break off and clog your brake valves or wheel cylinders. Instead, use a very small amount of liquid thread sealant specifically rated for hydraulic brake fluid, or rely on the dryseal properties of the threads. If possible, mount the switch so the terminals point horizontally or slightly downward to prevent air bubbles from becoming trapped inside the switch cavity, which can lead to a "spongy" pedal feel.
