This unit is jig-welded using 2-inch OD steel tubing with a .1025-inch wall thickness to ensure a consistent fit across all production years. Tip 1: Inspect and Reinforce Mounting Points. Before beginning your installation, thoroughly inspect the floor pans where the bar will be bolted. If your pans are thin or rusted, the bar will not sit level or secure. Many enthusiasts choose to weld in reinforcement plates at the mounting locations to provide a more stable foundation for the 4-point structure.

Tip 2: Finish the Steel Before Installation. This show bar is typically delivered in raw steel and is susceptible to surface rust if left unprotected. To ensure a professional look, degrease the tubing and apply a high-quality primer and chassis paint, or have the unit powder-coated before final assembly.
