This heavy-duty rear bumper is designed specifically for the VW Beetle Type 1. It is compatible with all model years, excluding the Super Beetle. Engineered for off-road durability, this bumper provides critical protection for your engine and integrates shock mounts for a complete Baja conversion.

Product Construction and Shipping Information

The bumper is manufactured from 1-1/2 inch raw steel tubing for maximum rigidity. Due to its size, this bumper must be cut vertically in the middle to meet UPS shipping requirements. A sleeve is included to assist in lining the sections back up for welding. Please allow 1 to 3 business days for the cutting process prior to shipment.

Pro Tech Tips for Installation

Check Exhaust Clearance: Before welding the bumper back together, dry-fit it against your vehicle. This heavy-duty style may interfere with certain high-mount or aftermarket exhaust systems. Always verify clearance with your specific exhaust setup before final installation.

Prioritize Weld Integrity: Since the bumper is shipped in two pieces, the center joint is a structural point. Ensure the included sleeve is seated properly and use a high-quality weld to join the halves, as this area will support the stress of the shock mounts and off-road impacts.

Prevent Surface Oxidation: This product is delivered in raw steel. To prevent rust, it is essential to thoroughly clean, degrease, and prime the metal immediately after welding is complete. Finishing with a durable powder coat or chassis paint is highly recommended for longevity.
