1. Optimize Your Mounting Angles

To ensure maximum safety and prevent spinal compression during a hard landing or impact, the shoulder straps should be mounted correctly relative to the occupant''s shoulders. Ideally, the shoulder straps should be anchored at an angle between 0 and 10 degrees below the horizontal line of the shoulders. Never mount shoulder straps to the floorboard directly behind the seat, as this can cause the seat to collapse or lead to severe spinal injury in a vertical impact.
