Mounting and Installation

Unlike universal bumpers, this model is designed to bolt directly to the upper shock mounts (shock towers). This mounting style provides superior stability and integrates the bumper into the strongest part of the rear suspension. Because it is manufactured from raw steel, it offers the flexibility to be painted, powder-coated, or further customized to match your vehicle's specific build.

Special Shipping Requirements

Due to the dimensions of the cage, this product must be cut in half to comply with UPS shipping regulations. We perform a precise vertical cut in the center and include an internal sleeve. This allows for a straightforward reassembly process while significantly reducing shipping costs. Please allow 1 to 3 business days for our team to prep and cut the bumper prior to shipment.

Pro Tech Tips for Installation

Tip 1: Secure Reassembly. When joining the two halves back together, ensure the internal sleeve is centered across the cut. Use heavy-duty clamps to hold the alignment perfectly straight before performing a full-penetration weld. This is a critical stress point, so a high-quality weld is necessary for safety.

Tip 2: Surface Preparation. Since the bumper arrives in raw steel, it will begin to develop surface rust quickly if left unprotected. Immediately after welding the center joint, degrease the entire unit with a wax and grease remover before applying a zinc-rich primer and a durable topcoat or powder-coating.

Tip 3: Shock Tower Inspection. Before bolting the bumper to your shock mounts, inspect your shock towers for cracks or fatigue. Since this bumper adds leverage to those points, ensure your hardware is grade 8 or higher and that the mounting surfaces are clean and flat to prevent unwanted vibration or hardware loosening.
