Tip 1: Strip and Re-Coat Before Installation. The black finish found on these exhaust systems is a "storage paint" designed solely to prevent rust during shipping and storage. It is not a high-heat finish and will burn off quickly once the engine reaches operating temperature. For a professional look that lasts, we recommend stripping this coating and applying a high-quality, high-temperature header paint or ceramic coating before you bolt it on.

Tip 2: Verify Apron Alignment. While this kit is designed to exit through the stock apron holes, variations in aftermarket body panels or aged engine mounts can cause clearance issues. Before final tightening, mock up the system to ensure the chrome tips are centered in the apron cut-outs. If the tips are touching the body, it can cause annoying vibrations and eventually damage the paint on your apron.

Tip 3: Inspect Your Heat Risers. When installing the included aluminum flex hose and hardware, take a moment to inspect your intake manifold heat riser tubes. If they are clogged with carbon, your engine will struggle to atomize fuel properly during warm-up.
