PRO TIPS

1. Prevent Thread Galling with Anti-Seize

Since these mounts are made of billet aluminum and you will likely be installing a steel or stainless steel mirror stud into them, it is absolutely vital to use a small amount of anti-seize lubricant on the threads. Aluminum is prone to galling, which is a form of cold-welding that can occur when two metals rub together under pressure. By applying a light film of anti-seize, you ensure that you can adjust or remove your mirrors in the future without stripping the internal 10mm threads or seizing the bolt permanently inside the mount. This is especially important for coastal buggies exposed to salt air, which accelerates oxidation between dissimilar metals.

2. Optimize Visibility Before Final Torquing

One of the greatest advantages of the groove-mount system is the ability to slide the mount vertically along the windshield frame. Before you tighten the set screws or the mirror itself, sit in the driver''s seat and have an assistant move the mount up and down.
