This EMPI exhaust stinger is designed for aircooled Volkswagen applications including the Beetle, Karmann Ghia, and various Dune Buggies or Sand Rails utilizing a small 3-bolt flange exhaust system. It is 18 inches in length and specifically engineered to fit EMPI exhaust systems with part numbers 3682, 3699, and 7320. Because it features a universal small 3-bolt pattern, it is also compatible with most other major manufacturers' small-flange headers.

Tip 1: Precision Alignment with the Swivel Flange. The primary advantage of the swivel flange is the ability to rotate the stinger 360 degrees. Before fully torquing the bolts, rotate the stinger to find the optimal angle that clears your rear apron or bodywork. This is especially helpful on custom fiberglass buggies where exhaust clearance can vary significantly.

Tip 2: Prevent Hardware Seizing. Because exhaust components are subject to extreme heat cycles and road debris, always apply a small amount of high-temperature anti-seize lubricant to the threads of your 3-bolt flange hardware.
