OVERVIEW
Upgrade your air-cooled engine''s performance and reliability with the Weber Dual 34 ICT Carburetor Kit. This kit is the gold standard for Volkswagen enthusiasts who want the improved throttle response and balanced fuel delivery of a dual-carburetor setup without the complexity or high cost of larger dual-throat units. By dedicatedly feeding each bank of cylinders with its own 34mm single-barrel carburetor, you eliminate the inherent limitations of the stock center-mount manifold. This results in a much smoother power band, cooler head temperatures, and a significant boost in mid-range torque. Whether you are cruising the coastline in a vintage Beetle or hauling gear in a Transporter, the Weber K1411 kit provides the perfect blend of classic drivability and modern performance efficiency that air-cooled owners crave.
The beauty of the Weber 34 ICT series lies in its simplicity and ease of maintenance. Unlike larger performance carburetors that can be finicky to tune, these single-barrel units are remarkably stable once dialed in. The kit comes complete with everything needed for a professional-grade installation, including high-quality aluminum intake manifolds, a robust hex-bar linkage system, and chrome air cleaners that look as good as they perform. Because the ICTs are smaller in profile, they fit comfortably within the engine bay of most Type 1 based vehicles without requiring major modifications to the tinware or bodywork. For engines ranging from stock 1600cc up to a spirited 1915cc, this Weber kit is arguably the best "bang-for-your-buck" engine upgrade available on the market today.

PRO TIPS
1. Respect the Fuel Pressure
One of the most common mistakes when installing Weber carburetors is over-pressurizing the needle and seat. Stock VW mechanical fuel pumps can sometimes put out 4 PSI or more, which is enough to overwhelm a Weber ICT and cause flooding or erratic idling. We strongly recommend installing a high-quality fuel pressure regulator and setting it between 1.5 to 2.5 PSI. Keeping the pressure consistent ensures that your float levels remain stable, prevents "weeping" at the gaskets, and makes the initial tuning process much more predictable.
2. The Importance of Synchronization
To get that legendary smooth Weber idle, you must ensure both carburetors are pulling the exact same amount of air. You cannot accurately tune dual carbs by ear or by counting screw turns alone. Use a "snail-style" STE Syncrometer to measure the airflow at the throat of each carburetor while the engine is running. Adjust your linkage so that both sides read identical values at idle. If your carbs are out of sync, one side of your engine will be fighting the other, leading to increased vibration, higher cylinder head temperatures, and poor fuel economy.
3. Block Off Your Heat Risers
When moving from a stock single carburetor to a dual carburetor setup, you are removing the center-mount manifold that utilized the exhaust heat riser tubes. Because the new Weber manifolds do not use these tubes, you must properly block off the holes on your exhaust headers or muffler where the heat risers used to connect. Failure to seal these off will result in a massive exhaust leak, which creates excessive noise and can lead to burnt valves or inaccurate oxygen sensor readings if you are using an AFR gauge for tuning. Use solid block-off plates with fresh gaskets for a permanent, leak-free seal.
