1. Proper Greasing and the ''Burping'' Technique
Never skimp on the quality of your grease when installing 930 CV joints. We recommend using a high-moly, synthetic grease specifically designed for high-temperature and high-pressure applications, such as Redline CV-2. When packing the joint, ensure that grease is forced into every cavity between the balls and the cage. A common mistake is over-filling the boot without allowing air to escape. After installation, use a small screwdriver to gently lift the edge of the boot and ''burp'' out the excess air. This prevents the boot from expanding like a balloon due to heat, which often leads to the boot rubbing against the flange or tearing prematurely during high-speed operation.
2. Fastener Security and Torque Specs
