Tech Tips & Installation Advice

• Cable Alignment: Ensure your throttle cable exits the pedal assembly in a straight line toward the chassis tube or firewall. A side-mount cable that is pulled at an angle will cause premature cable wear, fraying, and a "notchy" pedal feel.
• Wide Open Throttle (WOT): Before finishing your installation, have an assistant depress the pedal fully while you verify at the carburetor that the butterfly is reaching the full-open stop. Adjust your cable tension at the pedal side-mount to ensure you are getting 100% throttle travel.
• Pivot Lubrication: Periodically apply a drop of light machine oil or a small dab of dry graphite lubricant to the pedal pivot pin. This maintains a smooth, effortless motion and prevents the aluminum components from "galling" over time.
• Floor Clearance: If you are installing this in a vehicle with carpeting or floor mats, ensure the pedal has a clear path of travel. Thick mats can bunch up behind the pedal, preventing you from reaching full throttle or, worse, causing the pedal to stick in the depressed position.
• Return Spring: For safety, always ensure your carburetor or EFI throttle body has a strong return spring. While the pedal is balanced, a secondary return spring on the engine side is critical to ensure the throttle closes immediately when you lift your foot.
