OVERVIEW
When you''re building a high-performance sand rail, a custom dune buggy, or a dedicated drag car, your stopping power is only as reliable as the hydraulic pressure generated at the pedal. The Latest Rage 3/4 Bore Round Master Cylinder is the industry standard for enthusiasts who demand precision and durability in a compact package. Designed specifically as a high-quality replacement for CNC, Neal, or Latest Rage pedal assemblies, this master cylinder is engineered to provide the consistent line pressure required for 2-wheel brake configurations. Whether you are running a rear-only turning brake setup or a simplified front-braking system on a lightweight rail, the 3/4-inch bore provides the perfect balance between pedal effort and fluid displacement, ensuring you have a firm, responsive pedal every time you dive into a corner or staged at the lights.
Crafted for the rigors of off-road and racing environments, this round-body master cylinder features a robust construction that resists the vibration and heat common in air-cooled VW applications. The 1/8-inch NPT outlet port offers maximum versatility for custom plumbing, allowing you to adapt to either 3/16 SAE lines or Metric 10mm lines depending on your specific chassis requirements. Because this unit utilizes a vertical 12-to-6 o''clock mounting orientation with 2-1/4 inch centers, it integrates seamlessly into most aftermarket floor-mount or swing-pedal clusters. Don''t settle for spongy brakes or inconsistent pressure; upgrade to a master cylinder that is purpose-built for the unique demands of the VW-based off-road community and experience the confidence of professional-grade hydraulic control.
FITMENT
This master cylinder is a universal-style performance component designed for custom applications and specific aftermarket pedal assemblies. It is commonly used on the following:

PRO TIPS
1. Choosing the Correct Adapter Fitting
Since this master cylinder features a 1/8-inch NPT (National Pipe Thread) outlet, it will not connect directly to standard VW or SAE brake lines without an adapter. Before installation, determine if your vehicle uses 3/16 SAE flared lines or 10mm Metric lines. You will need to purchase a 1/8 NPT to 3/16 Flare or 1/8 NPT to 10mm Bubble Flare adapter. Always use a high-quality thread sealant on the NPT side of the fitting, but never on the flare side, as the flare is what creates the high-pressure seal for the brake fluid.
2. Bench Bleeding is Mandatory
To achieve a rock-solid pedal, you must bench bleed this master cylinder before installing it into your vehicle. Because of the round reservoir design, air bubbles can easily become trapped in the end of the bore. Secure the cylinder in a vise, fill it with fresh DOT 3 or DOT 4 fluid, and use a pushrod to cycle the piston until no more bubbles appear in the fluid. This prevents air from being pushed into your hard lines, which can be much harder to remove later through the wheel cylinders or calipers.
3. Understanding Bore Size vs. Pedal Pressure
The 3/4-inch bore is the most popular choice for 2-wheel brakes because it offers a great middle ground. If you find that your pedal is too hard to push and you aren''t getting enough stopping power, you might actually need a smaller 5/8-inch bore. Conversely, if your pedal has too much travel and feels soft, a larger 7/8-inch bore would move more fluid. For 90% of VW-based buggies and rails running rear discs or drums, this 3/4-inch unit provides the optimal mechanical advantage for confident stopping.
