This O-ring is specifically designed for the Weber IDF series carburetors, as well as EMPI HPMX and EPC equivalents. These are the standard carburetors used in high-performance air-cooled VW applications, including the Volkswagen Beetle, Karmann Ghia, Type 2 Bus, and various Dune Buggies or Sand Rails. This ring sits directly behind the idle jet holder to provide a vacuum-tight seal.

Identify Vacuum Leaks: If your VW is popping at idle or won't hold a steady low-RPM tune, these O-rings are often the culprit. A cracked or missing O-ring allows unmetered air to bypass the idle jet, creating a lean condition that makes the engine stumble or "hunt" for a steady idle.

Lubricate Before Installation: Never install these O-rings dry. Apply a very light film of clean engine oil or silicone-based grease to the O-ring before sliding the jet holder into the carburetor body. This prevents the rubber from pinching or tearing against the internal threads of the carb, ensuring a perfect seal every time.
