Tip 1: Match the Stamped Number. Never rely solely on the year of your vehicle when ordering ignition parts. VW distributors are easily swapped between engines. Always check the 10-digit Bosch number or the 3-digit identifier (like 034 or 044) stamped into the side of the distributor housing to ensure this condenser lead and bracket will fit correctly.

If your condenser has failed, your ignition points have likely been subjected to excessive arcing, leading to "pitting" or "transfer" of metal between the contact surfaces.
