Pro Tech Tips for Installation

1. Inspect for Base Warpage: Before installing your new gaskets, place a straight edge across the mounting flange of the carburetor. Weber 34 ICTs are often overtightened over time, which can bow the base. If the base is not perfectly flat, the new gasket may not seal properly. You can gently "lap" the base flat using fine-grit sandpaper on a piece of glass if minor warping is detected.

2. Avoid Silicone Sealants: Always install these gaskets dry or with a very light coating of a specialized gasket tack. Avoid using RTV or silicone-based sealants; these can squeeze out into the intake tract or, more dangerously, break off and clog the delicate internal passages and jets of your Weber carburetor.

3. Even Torque Sequence: When mounting the carburetor to the intake, tighten the nuts in small, alternating increments. This ensures even pressure across the entire surface of the gasket. Over-tightening one side first can crack the carburetor flange or cause a vacuum leak on the opposite side. Snug is sufficientdo not over-torque.
