This exhaust system is specifically designed for 1300cc to 1600cc aircooled VW Type 1 engines. It is compatible with stock heater boxes and includes the necessary aluminum flex hose and mounting hardware for a complete installation. It is ideal for Beetle-based Baja conversions and tube-chassis Dune Buggies where rear-end clearance is a priority.

Prep and Paint Immediately: Because this exhaust is shipped in raw steel, it is highly susceptible to surface rust from moisture in the air. We recommend cleaning the tubing with a degreaser and applying a high-quality, high-temperature header paint or ceramic coating before installation to protect the metal and ensure longevity.

Verify Body Clearance: While this system is designed for high ground clearance, it is intended for vehicles with modified rear aprons. If you are installing this on a standard Beetle that has not been converted to a Baja, significant trimming of the rear bodywork will be required to allow the stinger to exit properly.

Ensure a Leak-Free Seal: To prevent exhaust leaks at the cylinder heads, always use fresh copper or composite exhaust gaskets during installation. When attaching the 3-bolt stinger, tighten the bolts in a circular pattern evenly to ensure the flange seats flat, which prevents "whistling" and ensures the stinger remains securely attached during off-road vibration.
