1. Strip the Storage Paint: The black finish on this exhaust is strictly a "shipping paint" designed to prevent rust during transit and storage. It is not heat-resistant and will burn off quickly once the engine reaches operating temperature. For a professional finish, we recommend sanding the header and muffler and applying a dedicated high-temperature header paint or ceramic coating before you bolt it onto the car.

2. Verify Apron Clearance: Because this system features four tips, it occupies more width than a standard pea-shooter exhaust. Before final tightening, check the clearance between the chrome tips and your rear apron. If the engine mounts are worn, the exhaust may vibrate against the bodywork; ensuring a minimum 1/2-inch gap will prevent paint damage and unwanted rattling.

3. Use Copper Nuts and New Gaskets: To ensure a leak-free seal and easier maintenance in the future, always use brand-new exhaust gaskets and copper-plated exhaust nuts. Copper nuts are less likely to seize onto the exhaust studs over time due to heat cycles, making future engine service or exhaust adjustments much simpler.
