1. Verify Your Regulator Geometry: Do not attempt to use your original 1958-1964 window regulators with this kit. The original regulators for vent-window-equipped doors do not have the vertical travel or the leverage required to lift the larger, heavier 1-piece glass. You must install the 1968-style regulators (P/N 9757 and 9758) to ensure the window tracks correctly and reaches the full "up" position to seal against the roofline. Trying to force the stock regulators will result in stripped gears or shattered glass.

2. Perfect Sash Alignment is Critical: When mounting the glass into the window sashes (P/N 9759), it is vital to center the glass perfectly before tightening or crimping the sash. If the glass is tilted even a fraction of an inch forward or backward, it will bind in the felt channels as it rises. We recommend a "dry fit" inside the door first; roll the window up and down several times to see where the glass naturally wants to sit before final securing. Using a small amount of glass-setting tape or high-quality urethane will ensure the glass stays put for years to come.

3. Lubricate for Longevity: Once your felt channels are installed, apply a light coat of dry silicone spray or graphite lubricant inside the tracks.
