Vehicle and Engine Fitment

Strip and Coat Before Installation: This exhaust is shipped in raw steel with a thin layer of black storage paint intended only to prevent rust during transit. For a long-lasting finish, you must strip this paint and apply a high-quality ceramic coating or high-temp header paint. Installing it with the storage paint will result in the finish burning off during the first heat cycle.

Use High-Temp Anti-Seize: When assembling the swivel stinger to the header flange, apply a small amount of high-temperature anti-seize to the swivel joint. This ensures that you can easily adjust the angle of the stinger for optimal clearance and prevents the metal from galling or seizing after repeated heat cycles at the track.

Verify Ground Clearance: Merged headers and stingers sit significantly lower and further back than a stock exhaust system. If your VW is lowered, always check your ground clearance before driving.
