        PRO TIPS

        1. Center Your Steering Before Installation

        Before you remove your old tie rod, ensure your steering box is perfectly centered. A common mistake is adjusting the tie rods to compensate for a steering wheel that isn''t centered, which leads to an uneven turning radius. Count the total turns of the steering wheel from lock to lock, then turn it back exactly halfway. Once the box is centered, you can install the new left-side tie rod and adjust it to meet your alignment specs. This ensures that your "peg" in the steering box is riding on the center of the worm gear, providing the longest life for your steering components.

        2. Use the Right Tools for the Job

        Never use a standard hammer directly on the threaded stud of a tie rod to break it loose from the spindle or pitman arm.
