Check Flange Flatness: Before installing your new gaskets, use a straight edge to verify that the intake manifold flanges are perfectly flat. Over-tightening in the past can cause aluminum flanges to warp; if they are not true, even a new gasket may fail to seal. If necessary, lightly sand the flange on a flat surface to restore a level mating area.

Install Dry: These gasket board seals are designed to be installed dry. Avoid using RTV or silicone sealants, as these can cause the gasket to "slip" or "walk" while you are tightening the manifold nuts, and excess sealant can squeeze into the intake ports, disrupting your air-fuel mixture.

Incremental Torquing: To achieve an airtight seal, tighten the manifold nuts in small increments, alternating between the front and rear studs. This ensures even compression across the entire surface of the dual port head, preventing the gasket from pinching or tearing during the installation process.
