2. Understanding Primary Resistance and Ignition Compatibility
At 0.7 Ohms of primary resistance, this coil is a "pro-level" component. If you are running a traditional points-and-condenser ignition system, you MUST use a ballast resistor to prevent the points from burning up prematurely. 3. Optimizing Your Spark Plug Gap

To take full advantage of this, we recommend experimenting with your spark plug gap. While a stock VW engine might call for a .025" gap, the extra voltage of the Blaster Coil can often jump a wider gap, such as .035" or even .040" in some performance applications.
