OVERVIEW
When it comes to maintaining the safety and visibility of your classic 1965-1967 Volkswagen Beetle, few components are as vitaland as frequently overlookedas the wiper arms. Over decades of exposure to the elements, original wiper arms lose their internal spring tension, leading to poor blade contact with the windshield and dangerous streaking during rainstorms. Our premium black wiper arm is precision-engineered to restore that factory-fresh functionality, ensuring that your blades stay firmly pressed against the glass even at highway speeds. Whether you are finishing a ground-up restoration or simply performing essential maintenance on your daily driver, this arm provides the structural integrity and reliable performance that air-cooled enthusiasts expect from Appletree Auto.
This specific wiper arm features a durable, satin black finish that offers a clean, period-correct look for the 1967 models, while providing a functional, anti-glare upgrade for 1965 and 1966 owners who want to eliminate sun reflections off their wipers. Designed for universal fitment on either the driver (left) or passenger (right) side, it eliminates the guesswork often associated with sourcing vintage exterior components. The high-quality steel construction is resistant to corrosion and fatigue, meaning you won''t have to worry about the arm stripping its splines or failing during a sudden downpour. Sold individually, these arms are a cost-effective way to refresh your Beetle''s exterior aesthetic while significantly improving your foul-weather driving confidence.

PRO TIPS
1. Clean the Splines Before Installation
Before sliding your new wiper arm onto the wiper motor pivot shaft, take a moment to inspect the splines on the shaft itself. Use a small wire brush or a pick to remove any old metal shavings, corrosion, or debris trapped in the teeth. If the splines on the shaft are packed with old material, the new arm may not seat deeply enough, leading to it stripping out under the pressure of a heavy rainstorm. A clean connection ensures the arm locks into place and provides years of slip-free operation.
2. Dial In the Park Position
When installing new arms, don''t tighten the mounting nut all the way until you have verified the "park" position. Place the arm on the splines and cycle the wiper motor once. Observe where the arm rests on the windshield. For 1965-1967 Beetles, you want the blade to sit parallel to the bottom windshield rubber without touching it. If it is too high or too low, gently pull the arm off the splines, rotate it one or two notches, and re-test. Once the alignment is perfect, torque the nut down securely to prevent any vibration-induced loosening.
3. Check Your Blade Length
While the wiper arm is the backbone of the system, it is only as good as the blade attached to it. For the 1965-1967 windshield, ensure you are using the correct 11-inch or 12-inch blade (depending on your specific glass and preference). Because these arms have fresh spring tension, they will exert more pressure on the glass than your old, tired arms. This is the perfect time to install fresh rubber blades to prevent scratching your vintage glass and to maximize the efficiency of the new arm''s downward force.
