Tech Tips & Installation Advice

• Mounting Location: Install the rev limiter in a location protected from extreme engine heat and direct moisture. While the unit is durable, keeping it away from the exhaust headers and choosing a spot inside the cabin or in a protected area of the engine bay will extend its service life.
• Wiring Integrity: For the most accurate RPM sensing, ensure your wire connections are soldered or use high-quality crimp connectors. A loose connection to the coil's negative terminal can cause erratic limiting or engine stumbling.
• Setting the Limit: Set your RPM limit approximately 200–500 RPM below your engine's actual mechanical "redline." This provides a safety buffer that accounts for the split-second delay between the limiter engaging and your foot lifting off the throttle.
• Grounding: Like all digital electronics, a "clean" ground is essential. Connect the black ground wire directly to the chassis or the engine block. Ensure the mounting point is free of paint, rust, or powder coating to prevent electrical interference.
• Check Your Tachometer: After installation, verify that the limiter is functioning by gradually increasing RPM (in a safe, stationary environment) to your set limit. Ensure your dashboard tachometer aligns with the limiter's digital settings for total tuning confidence.
