Pro Tech Tips for Installation

Deep Clean the Channels: Before applying any adhesive, use a plastic scraper or a stiff nylon brush to remove every trace of old rubber and dried glue from the door frame. A clean, bare metal surface is essential for the new seal to bond correctly and sit flush within the channel.

Apply Adhesive Correctly: Use a high-quality weatherstrip adhesive and apply a thin, consistent bead to both the seal and the door channel. Wait about one minute for the adhesive to become "tacky" before pressing the seal into place; this prevents the rubber from sliding or shifting during the curing process.

The Compression Period: High-quality new seals are often thicker than the worn-out units they replace. Your doors may be difficult to close immediately after installation. Close the doors firmly and leave them latched for 24 to 48 hours to allow the rubber to compress and take the permanent shape of your Bus's door frame.
