Tip 1: Proper Thread Sealing

When installing NPT (tapered) fittings into an aluminum oil pump or filter bypass, it is vital to use a high-quality thread sealant. If you choose tape, ensure you leave the first two threads bare to prevent stray bits of tape from entering the oil galley and clogging your lifters or bearings. Tip 2: Managing Hose Stress and Kinks

The primary advantage of a 90-degree fitting is the ability to route hoses away from hot exhaust headers or moving suspension components.
