OVERVIEW
Elevate the aesthetic and performance of your air-cooled project with our premium 911 Alloy Wheels in a stunning fully polished finish. These wheels are a timeless tribute to the iconic Porsche Fuchs design, a look that has defined high-performance German engineering for decades. When you choose this set of four wheels, you aren''t just buying a set of rims; you are investing in a classic silhouette that bridges the gap between the world of vintage Porsche 911s and the custom Volkswagen scene. The high-luster polished alloy surface provides a mirror-like shine that catches the light from every angle, making your Beetle, Ghia, or Porsche-powered kit car stand out at any show or weekend cruise. Crafted from high-grade aluminum alloy, these wheels offer a significant reduction in unsprung weight compared to traditional steel wheels, which translates directly to improved handling, crisper steering response, and more efficient heat dissipation for your braking system.
Finding the perfect balance between width and wheel-well clearance can be a challenge for air-cooled enthusiasts, but these 6-inch wide wheels hit the absolute sweet spot. The 5 on 130mm bolt pattern is the gold standard for those running Porsche disc brake conversions or redrilled hubs, offering a hub-centric feel and superior strength. With a backspacing of 4-15/16 inches, these wheels provide a slightly more aggressive stance than narrow stock options while remaining tucked enough to avoid major fender interference on most lowered applications. This complete set of four wheels ensures a uniform look for your vehicle, providing the structural integrity needed for spirited driving and the show-stopping finish that Appletree Automotive customers demand. Whether you are building a Period-Correct Cal-Looker or a modern Resto-Mod, these 911-style alloys deliver the perfect blend of vintage soul and contemporary manufacturing precision.
FITMENT
These wheels feature the Porsche 5 on 130mm bolt pattern. While they are a direct fit for many vintage Porsche models, they are also the most popular choice for Volkswagens equipped with aftermarket disc brake conversions or redrilled drums/rotors. Please verify your hub pattern before ordering.

PRO TIPS
1. Always Use the Correct Ball-Seat Hardware
One of the most common mistakes we see in the shop is the use of standard Volkswagen 60-degree taper-seat lug nuts on Porsche-style alloy wheels. These 911-style wheels are specifically engineered to use 14mm Ball Seat hardware. Using a tapered nut on a ball-seat wheel will not only damage the alloy mounting surface but can also lead to the wheel loosening over time due to insufficient surface contact. Always double-check your studs or lug bolts to ensure they match the radius of the wheel seat for a safe and secure installation. We recommend hand-torquing these wheels to 80-90 lb-ft and re-checking them after the first 50 miles of driving.
2. Verify Fender Clearance with 6-Inch Widths
While a 6-inch wheel is a fantastic upgrade, it is wider than the standard 4-inch or 4.5-inch wheels found on stock Beetles. If your car is significantly lowered or if you are using a stock-width front beam, you need to be mindful of tire-to-fender contact during sharp turns. To achieve the best look and functionality, many builders pair these 6-inch wheels with a slightly narrowed front beam (2 to 4 inches) to keep the tires tucked neatly inside the fenders. Before mounting your tires, do a dry fit of the wheel on the hub to check the clearance between the inner rim lip and your tie rod ends, especially if you are running dropped spindles.
3. Maintain That Mirror Finish
These wheels are fully polished raw alloy, which means they do not have a clear coat. While this allows for an incredible, deep shine that a painted wheel can''t match, it also means the aluminum is exposed to the elements. To keep them looking brand new, we recommend applying a high-quality synthetic wheel sealant or carnauba wax immediately after installation. This creates a barrier against brake dust and road grime. If they ever start to look dull, a quick hand-polish with a dedicated aluminum polish will bring that "day-one" luster right back. Avoid using acid-based wheel cleaners, as these will instantly etch the polished surface and cause cloudiness.
