1. Mastering the Porsche Bolt Pattern Conversion

Because these wheels use the Porsche 5x130mm bolt pattern, you cannot simply bolt them onto a stock 4x130mm or 5x205mm VW hub. To do this right, we strongly recommend using redrilled brake drums or disc brake rotors specifically machined for the 5x130mm pattern. While adapters are an option, they often add 1/2 inch to 1 inch of spacing per side, which can push the wheel out too far and cause fender interference. By using redrilled hubs, you maintain the correct track width, allowing the 4.5-inch wheel to sit perfectly tucked inside the wheel well, especially on lowered Beetles and Ghias.

2. Selecting the Perfect Tire for the Narrow Profile

The 4.5-inch width of these wheels is specifically designed for a narrower tire profile, which is a hallmark of the classic "big and little" look.
