1. Paint for Protection: The black coating on this muffler is a "storage paint" designed only to prevent rust during shipping and shelving. It will burn off quickly once the engine reaches operating temperature. For a lasting finish, we highly recommend stripping the storage paint and applying a high-quality, high-temperature exhaust or header paint before installation.

2. Seal the System: Always use a new 3-bolt gasket when installing a replacement muffler. Reusing an old gasket is the leading cause of "chirping" exhaust leaks. Additionally, apply a small amount of anti-seize lubricant to the mounting bolts to make future maintenance much easier.

3. Verify Flange Orientation: Before finalizing your purchase, verify that your current header features the standard 3-bolt triangular flange. While this muffler fits most EMPI and similar aftermarket headers, some "merged" headers or older custom systems may use different rotations or flange sizes.
