Pro Tech Tips for Installation

Clean the Flange Surfaces: Before installing the new gasket, use a wire brush or gasket scraper to remove all remnants of old gasket material and carbon soot from both the header flange and the stinger. A perfectly clean, flat mating surface is the best way to prevent annoying exhaust leaks and "popping" sounds.

Use High-Temp Anti-Seize: Apply a small amount of high-temperature anti-seize lubricant to the threads of the three mounting bolts before installation. Because exhaust components are subject to extreme heat cycles, the hardware can often seize over time; anti-seize ensures you can easily swap your stinger for a muffler later without snapping a bolt.

Perform a Heat Cycle Re-Torque: After your first drive, allow the engine to cool down completely and then re-check the tightness of the three bolts. The initial heating and cooling cycle causes the metal to expand and contract, which can sometimes loosen the hardware. A quick secondary tightening ensures a permanent, leak-free seal.
