Tech Tips & Installation Advice

• Thread Engagement: When installing the heim end onto your push-pull cable, ensure you have a minimum of 1/2" of thread engagement. Proper engagement is vital to prevent the threads from stripping under the high tension of a heavy throttle return spring.
• Use a Jam Nut: To prevent the heim end from vibrating loose, always secure it with a 10-32 jam nut. Once your linkage length is adjusted for Wide Open Throttle (WOT), tighten the jam nut firmly against the base of the heim end to lock your settings in place.
• Check for Binding: Manually cycle your throttle through its full range of motion. Ensure the heim end ball has enough "misalignment" room to pivot without the outer housing hitting the mounting bracket. If the housing binds, it can bend the cable end and cause a stuck throttle.
