Keep in mind that when you move to a 6-inch wider beam, your stock tie rods will no longer reach the spindles. You must purchase or fabricate 6-inch wider tie rods to match the beam width. Additionally, always check your "toe-in" settings after installation. On a wide-track off-road beam, we typically recommend a slightly more aggressive toe setting than a street car to ensure the vehicle tracks straight through soft sand and ruts. Double-check your steering box centering to ensure you have an equal turning radius in both directions before heading out on the trail.
2. Selecting the Correct Shock and Spring Combo
This beam is specifically engineered for 8-inch travel shocks. Using a shorter shock will severely limit your suspension travel and likely result in the shock bottoming out, which can tear the tower mounts right off the beam. Conversely, a shock that is too long will top out and cause internal damage. Furthermore, remember that this is a leaf-spring beam. Do not attempt to run "coil-over only" shocks without the internal leaf springs installed; the towers are designed to support the dampening force of the shock, not the entire weight of the vehicle''s front end. Always use the recommended AC413030W leaf springs for the best results.
3. Maintenance of King Pins and Bushings
