However, due to the 8-inch width and negative 18mm offset, these wheels are specifically designed for applications requiring a wide stance, such as Meyers Manx buggies, Baja Bugs, or street cars equipped with widened aftermarket fenders.

1. Use the Correct Lug Hardware: Aluminum wheels like the Sprintstar require specific lug nuts or bolts. This wheel uses a 60-degree taper (conical) seat. Never attempt to use your stock VW "ball seat" lug hardware, as it will not seat properly, leading to damaged wheels or the wheel coming loose while driving. We recommend using EMPI 00-9519-0 lugs and 00-9484-0 nuts for a secure fit.

2. Verify Fender Clearance: An 8-inch wide wheel is significantly wider than the original factory equipment. Before mounting tires, perform a test fit on the rear of your vehicle to ensure there is adequate clearance between the tire sidewall and the fender lip, as well as the inner wheel well. These are ideal for a "staggered" look when paired with 15x5 Sprintstars in the front.

3. Re-Torque After Initial Break-In: Aluminum wheels can expand and contract with heat more than steel wheels. After installing your new Sprintstars, drive the vehicle for approximately 25 to 50 miles and then re-check the torque on all lug nuts. This ensures that the hardware has remained seated correctly after the initial heat cycles and vibrations of driving.
