Due to its rugged, sealed design, it is the industry standard for off-road applications such as Dune Buggies, Sand Rails, and Baja Bugs where exposure to the elements is constant.

Tip 1: Utilize the Dual-Circuit Functionality. Because this is an "On-Off-On" switch, it is ideal for controlling accessories with two modes. Use it to toggle between high and low speeds on a heater blower motor, or to switch between different sets of auxiliary lighting, such as a front light bar and rear chase lights, using a single mounting hole.

Tip 2: Maintain the Environmental Seal. When installing the switch through your dash or panel, ensure the rubber boot is fully tightened against the faceplate. This compression creates the moisture-proof seal. If you are painting your dash, install the switch after the paint has fully cured to prevent the rubber boot from bonding to the finish or tearing during future removals.

Tip 3: Use Relays for High-Amperage Loads. Although this switch is rated for 20 amps, continuous high-draw components like high-output electric cooling fans or large halogen arrays can generate significant heat. To extend the life of the switch contacts and prevent voltage drop, use the toggle switch to trigger a relay rather than running the full load directly through the switch.
