Pro Tech Tips for a Leak-Free Exhaust

Tip 1: Use High-Temp Anti-Seize. Before assembling your exhaust, apply a small amount of copper-based anti-seize to the threads of the bolts and studs. The high heat cycles of an air-cooled engine often lead to rusted or "frozen" hardware; this simple step ensures you can remove or adjust the exhaust easily in the future without snapping a stud.

Tip 2: Perform a Heat-Cycle Re-Torque. Exhaust gaskets and clamps often "settle" after the first few miles of driving.
