Pro Tech Tips for Installation

Lubricate All Seals: Before sliding the adjustable tube into position, apply a thin coat of engine oil or assembly lube to the internal center O-ring and the two end seals. This prevents the rubber from binding, pinching, or tearing as you expand the threaded sections into place.

Clean the Mounting Ports: Ensure the ports in both the engine case and the cylinder heads are completely free of old gasket material, carbon buildup, and road grime. A clean, smooth mating surface is essential for the seals to compress correctly and prevent future oil leaks.

Verify Expansion Tension: When threading the tube out to seat it, expand it firmly so that the end seals are compressed against the case and head. Avoid over-tightening to the point of stripping the aluminum threads, but ensure there is enough outward pressure to keep the tube locked in place during engine vibration and heat cycles.
