Pro Tech Tips

Tip 1: Clean the Seating Surfaces. Before installing your new spring-loaded tube, use a lint-free rag and a bit of degreaser to clean the bores in both the engine case and the cylinder head. Any residual grit or old rubber bits can prevent the new seals from seating properly, leading to immediate leaks.

Tip 2: Correct Spring Orientation. For the best results and proper oil drainage, always install the push rod tube with the wider, spring-loaded end facing the engine case. This ensures that the spring tension is applied correctly against the main oil gallery side of the engine.

Tip 3: Lubricate Your Seals. Never install the rubber seals dry. Apply a very light coating of fresh engine oil or a dedicated assembly lubricant to the seals before compressing the tube. This allows the seals to slide into position without binding or tearing, ensuring a perfect airtight and oil-tight fit.
