OVERVIEW
When you are running a high-performance air-cooled Volkswagen engine, heat is your constant adversary, and the integrity of your seals is the only thing standing between a clean machine and an oil-soaked driveway. The JayCee Leak Proof Pushrod Tube Master Rebuild Kit (JC-9111-0) is the definitive solution for maintaining the legendary reliability of your JayCee adjustable pushrod tubes. Over time, even the highest quality Viton seals can fall victim to extreme thermal cycling, chemical degradation from modern synthetic oils, and the physical stresses of high-RPM operation. This master rebuild kit is specifically engineered to refresh your entire set of eight tubes, ensuring that the telescoping joints and head-to-case connections remain vacuum-tight and leak-free for years to come. Don''t let a minor drip turn into a major headache during a weekend cruise or a critical race day; keeping a fresh set of JayCee seals on hand is standard practice for any serious VW enthusiast.
This kit is not just a collection of generic O-rings; it is a precision-matched component set designed to fit the exacting tolerances of JayCee''s billet aluminum hardware. By utilizing high-temperature Viton material, this kit offers superior resistance to the blistering cylinder head temperatures often seen in Type 1 performance builds. The "Master" designation means you are getting every single seal required to fully overhaul a complete set of eight tubes, including the internal seals that allow the tubes to expand and contract without losing their seal. Whether you are performing a seasonal tune-up or reassembling your top end after a valve job, using the genuine JayCee JC-9111-0 kit ensures that you are maintaining the high standards of the original equipment. It is the cheapest insurance policy you can buy to protect your engine''s oil pressure and keep your cooling tins free from oily grime that attracts heat-trapping dust.

PRO TIPS
1. Preparation is Paramount
Before installing your new Viton seals, it is absolutely critical to inspect the sealing surfaces of your JayCee aluminum tubes. Use a lint-free cloth and a mild solvent to remove every trace of old oil and road grime. If you notice any small burrs or nicks on the aluminum edges where the seals seat, very lightly dress them with 1000-grit sandpaper or a fine Scotch-Brite pad. Even a microscopic sharp edge can nick a brand-new Viton seal during installation, leading to a "mystery leak" that won''t show up until the engine reaches full operating temperature. A perfectly smooth surface ensures the seal can do its job under pressure.
2. The Lubrication Secret
Never install Viton seals dry. While it might seem counterintuitive to put oil on a part meant to stop oil, a light film of clean engine oil or a dedicated assembly lube like STP or high-tack assembly grease is vital. This lubrication allows the seal to slide into the engine case and cylinder head bores without "rolling" or "binding." A rolled seal is the number one cause of pushrod tube leaks during a fresh build. By lubricating the seals, you allow the adjustable tube to find its natural center as you tighten the heads or adjust the tube length, ensuring a uniform 360-degree seal against the metal surfaces.
3. Check the Bore Condition
While the JayCee kit provides the best seals on the market, they cannot compensate for a damaged engine case or cylinder head bore. Before sliding the tubes into place, reach your finger into the pushrod tube bores in the engine case and the cylinder heads. Feel for any deep scratches or "stair-stepping" caused by previous stock steel tubes. If the bores are significantly pitted, you may need to use a very small amount of high-temp RTV or aviation Form-A-Gasket around the outer circumference of the seal to help fill those imperfections. However, if the bores are clean, let the Viton do its jobover-using sealant can actually cause the seal to "spit out" of the bore during the expansion process.
