Measure Twice, Cut Once: Before removing the damaged section of your original floor, use the new EMPI panel as a template. Trace the outline onto your chassis and mark your cut lines carefully. It is often beneficial to leave a small overlap for a lap weld or trim precisely for a butt weld depending on your restoration preference.

Surface Preparation is Key: These replacement panels feature a thin protective coating to prevent rust during storage and shipping. For a high-quality weld, you must grind this coating off to reveal bare metal at all contact points. Clean metal ensures better penetration and a much stronger bond.
