OVERVIEW
When it comes to conquering the dunes or dominating the desert trails, your suspension geometry is the single most important factor in how your machine handles the terrain. These Latest Rage 3x3 Chromoly Rear Trailing Arms are engineered to transform your IRS-equipped Volkswagen or custom sand rail into a high-performance off-road beast. By extending the wheelbase by 3 inches and widening the track by 3 inches per side, you aren''t just getting a more aggressive stance; you are gaining significant stability at high speeds and allowing for a much larger range of wheel travel. This added length and width help to smooth out the "whoops" and provide a more predictable ride, preventing the twitchy behavior common with stock-length arms when pushing the limits of your air-cooled powerplant.
Strength and serviceability are at the heart of the AC529010 design. Crafted from high-grade Chromoly steel, these arms offer an incredible strength-to-weight ratio that can withstand the brutal landings and torsional stresses of aggressive off-roading. What sets these arms apart is the precision-machined bolt-in billet bearing carrier. Unlike traditional welded-in carriers that can warp during the manufacturing process or become a nightmare to service if damaged, these bolt-in units ensure perfect bearing alignment every time. This design allows for easier maintenance and ensures that your rear-end geometry remains true, even after seasons of abuse. Whether you are building a dedicated Baja Bug or a high-horsepower rail, these trailing arms provide the robust foundation required for professional-grade suspension performance.

PRO TIPS
1. Proper Axle and CV Selection
When moving to a 3x3 arm configuration, your stock Volkswagen axles will be much too short. You will need to upgrade to extended axles, typically 19-1/4 inches in length, to bridge the gap created by the 3-inch wider and 3-inch longer geometry. Furthermore, to truly take advantage of the increased wheel travel these arms provide, we strongly recommend upgrading to 930-style CV joints. Standard Type 1 CVs will bind at the extreme angles that 3x3 arms can achieve. Using 930 CVs allows for up to 25 to 28 degrees of angle, ensuring your drivetrain remains reliable while you are soaking up deep ruts and jumps.
2. Cycling the Suspension for Shock Mounts
Because these arms change the leverage ratio on your rear suspension, you cannot simply use your factory shock mounting locations and expect optimal performance. Before you finish-weld your upper shock mounts, you must "cycle" the suspension. This means removing the springs and moving the trailing arm from full compression (bump) to full extension (droop). Ensure that your shock is not bottoming out before the arm hits the bump stop, and ensure the CV joints aren''t binding at full droop. Proper shock geometry is the difference between a car that floats over bumps and one that breaks parts every weekend.
3. Bearing Carrier Installation and Care
The bolt-in billet bearing carriers are a massive advantage for maintenance, but they require careful installation. Always
