When installing the Allstar Mini Breather, always ensure your vent lines have a consistent upward slope from the engine or transaxle to the tank. This allows heavy oil mist to condense inside the lines and drain back into the case before it ever reaches the breather filter. If you create a "trap" or a low spot in the line, oil will pool there, eventually blocking the vent and causing the very pressure spikes you''re trying to avoid. For the cleanest setup, mount the tank as high as possible on the fire wall or cage to ensure maximum separation of air and oil.
2. Proper NPT Sealing is Critical
The bottom of this tank features a 1/4-inch NPT bung. Because this is an aluminum component, you must be extremely careful not to over-tighten your fittings, which can crack the bung or strip the threads. We recommend using a high-quality PTFE thread sealant or specialized fuel/oil-resistant thread tape. Always start the fitting by hand to ensure it isn''t cross-threaded.
