The QA1 PCM Series Chrome Moly Rod End represents the absolute pinnacle of two-piece rod end technology. Engineered for high-stress applications, this 3/4-inch right-hand thread heim joint is constructed from heat-treated chrome moly steel, providing a massive increase in tensile strength over standard mild steel alternatives. The body is finished with a durable black oxide coating to resist corrosion, while the race-proven design ensures that your alignment stays true even under the most punishing lateral loads found on the track or the trail.

PRO TIPS
PRO TIP 1: When installing your QA1 heim joints, always use a high-quality jam nut to secure the rod end in place. It is vital to ensure you have at least 1.5 times the diameter of the shank in thread engagement within your tube bung or linkage. For a 3/4-inch shank, this means you should have at least 1-1/8 inches of thread inside the mating part. Failure to provide adequate thread engagement can lead to stripped threads or catastrophic failure under heavy suspension cycling.
PRO TIP 2: Since the PCM Series is a metal-to-metal rod end, regular maintenance is required to keep them operating smoothly. We recommend cleaning the ball area after every off-road excursion and applying a high-quality dry film lubricant. Avoid using heavy greases in sandy environments, as the grease can trap grit and turn into an abrasive paste that will prematurely wear out the hard chrome plating on the ball and the internal race of the chrome moly body.
PRO TIP 3: To achieve the maximum range of motion without binding, always use high-misalignment spacers if your suspension geometry requires significant articulation. Without these spacers, the body of the heim joint can contact the mounting bracket, which puts immense leverage on the shank and can cause it to snap. If you are building a long-travel Baja front end, cycle the suspension fully from bump to droop without the coil-overs installed to verify that the joint does not bind at any point in the travel.
