This EMPI Quick Steering Kit is designed specifically for 1969 through 1979 Volkswagen Beetles and Karmann Ghias equipped with ball joint front ends. The kit features a precision machined spacer plate that attaches to the stock VW pitman arm, reducing steering wheel travel by nearly one full turn lock-to-lock. This modification is intended for off-road or competition use and is not recommended for standard street driving. Please note that this kit will not fit Super Beetle models.

Verify Component Clearance: After installing the spacer plate and reattaching your tie rods, manually cycle the steering from lock to lock while the vehicle is on jack stands. It is vital to ensure the tie rods do not make contact with the frame head, fuel tank, or any chassis components throughout the entire range of motion.

Perform a Professional Alignment: Because this kit changes the pivot point on the pitman arm, it alters the steering geometry. You must perform a complete front-end alignment immediately after installation to prevent rapid tire wear and to ensure the vehicle tracks correctly.
