The 1-1/2 inch tubing diameter is the "sweet spot" for street-performance engines, providing increased flow over stock systems while maintaining necessary backpressure for low-end torque. This system utilizes a merged header design with a spring-attached collector for a secure, competition-style fit.

1. Strip and Paint Before Installation: The black coating on this exhaust is a temporary rust inhibitor used for shipping and warehouse storage only. It will smoke and burn off almost immediately upon the first engine start. For a professional finish, we recommend stripping the storage coating with a solvent and applying a high-quality, high-temperature header paint or ceramic coating to prevent surface rust and extend the life of the raw steel.

2. Verify Rear Apron Clearance: Dual quiet mufflers are significantly larger than standard pea-shooter exhausts. Before final tightening, mock up the system to ensure the mufflers do not make contact with the rear apron or bodywork. If you are running a lowered vehicle, check that the mufflers have adequate ground clearance, as the dual-canister design hangs lower than a single-muffler setup.

3. Seal the Collector Joints: To prevent annoying exhaust leaks at the slip joints, apply a thin layer of high-temperature exhaust sealant or RTV (rated for at least 700 degrees) to the header-to-collector connections before installing the springs.
