Pro Tech Tips for Installation

Tip 1: Verify Hardware Length and Use Anti-Seize. Because these stand-offs add thickness to the hinge mounting point, you will require longer bolts than the factory originals. Ensure your hardware has sufficient thread engagement into the body's captive nuts. Additionally, always apply a small amount of anti-seize lubricant to the bolt threads to prevent galvanic corrosion between the steel bolts and the cast aluminum brackets.

Tip 2: Re-align the Lower Latch. Spacing the top of the deck lid outward changes the angle at which the lid meets the body. After the stand-offs are installed, you will likely need to adjust the lower deck lid latch and the striker plate on the rear apron. Take your time to align the latch so the lid shuts securely without putting unnecessary tension on the new aluminum brackets.
