Vehicle Fitment & Compatibility

This kit (Part #00-3586-0) is precision-engineered to fit the body lines of the 1958, 1959, 1960, 1961, 1962, 1963, and 1964 Volkswagen Beetle. The 4-piece set includes the front windshield seal, the rear window seal, and both the driver and passenger side rear quarter window seals. Please note that this kit is designed for standard fixed windows and is not compatible with pop-out side window frames.

Pro Tech Tips for Installation

The Rope-In Technique: To safely seat the glass and seal into the body, use a 1/4-inch nylon rope. Place the rubber seal onto the glass, then tuck the rope into the outer groove of the seal, overlapping the ends at the bottom center. With a helper applying firm pressure from the outside, slowly pull the rope from the inside to flip the rubber lip over the metal body flange.

Temperature Matters: New rubber seals can be rigid and difficult to manipulate. For a much easier installation, lay the rubber kits out in the direct sun for 30 minutes prior to starting. This softens the material, making it more pliable and allowing it to stretch more easily around the corners of the glass without binding.

Proper Lubrication: Never use petroleum-based grease or oil, as these can cause the rubber to swell and deteriorate over time. Instead, use a heavy mixture of dish soap and water or a dedicated silicone-based glass lubricant. Apply it generously to both the rope and the rubber groove to help the seal slide over the body lip without tearing the new material.
