These fittings are a standard fit for most aftermarket VW fuel system upgrades. Use Fuel-Resistant Thread Sealant: Because NPT is a tapered thread, it requires a sealant to be truly leak-proof. Always apply a small amount of fuel-resistant thread paste or yellow Teflon tape (specifically rated for gas/fuel) to the 1/8" NPT threads before installation.

Do Not Over-Tighten: Many fuel regulators and electric pumps are constructed from cast aluminum. Over-tightening these steel or brass fittings into an aluminum housing can cause the housing to crack. Tighten until snug, then give it an additional 1/4 to 1/2 turn to seal.

Inspect for Hose Fatigue: When installing new barbed fittings, it is the perfect time to inspect your 1/4" fuel lines. If the rubber is hard, cracked, or shows signs of "checking," replace the lines immediately and secure them to the barbs using high-quality fuel line clamps to prevent engine bay fires.
