Professional Installation Tips

Thoroughly Clean the Channels: Before installing your new seals, use a plastic scraper and a mild adhesive remover to strip away all old rubber fragments and glue residue. A perfectly clean channel is essential for the new adhesive to bond correctly and prevent future leaks.

Apply Adhesive Sparingly: Use a high-quality weatherstrip adhesive, applying a thin, consistent bead along the channel. Avoid over-applying, as excess glue can squeeze out onto your paint or door panels. Wait for the adhesive to become "tacky" (usually a few minutes) before pressing the seal into place.

Allow the Rubber to Set: New seals are often stiff and may make the door difficult to close initially. Once installed, firmly shut the doors and leave them closed for 24 to 48 hours. This allows the rubber to compress and take the permanent shape of the door frame, ensuring an easier operation and a tighter seal over time.
