Vehicle Fitment and Compatibility

This exhaust system is designed specifically for VW Type 1 engines. Please note that this is a competition-style merged header system; it is NOT compatible with stock heater boxes. It is intended for use in performance applications where maximum flow is the priority.

Pro Tech Tips

Use Anti-Seize on Hardware: Even though this system is high-quality stainless steel, we highly recommend applying a small amount of high-temp anti-seize to the V-band bolt and exhaust studs. This prevents galling and ensures you can easily disassemble the system for future maintenance.

Check Your Carburetor Jetting: Moving from a stock exhaust or a restrictive header to a 1 5/8-inch merged system significantly increases airflow. You will likely need to re-jet your carburetor(s) to a slightly richer mixture to compensate for the improved efficiency and prevent a lean-run condition.

Verify Ground Clearance: Sideflow systems exit in a specific location relative to the rear apron. If your Beetle or Ghia is significantly lowered, always double-check your clearance over speed bumps and steep driveways to protect your investment from road impact.
